1 trick to read books faster

Hey,

Hope you had a nice week! I want to share premium value with you every week, and today I want to share a tip that can help you read faster and retain the information better. I usually read a book in about 1-3 days and people often ask me how they can read faster and not lose focus.

So here’s the trick:

Listen to audio and read at the same time

Back when I studied languages for fun, I found that the more pieces of context you have, the easier it is to retain any piece of information (This is actually the science behind how memory works). So whenever I made flashcards on my computer, I made sure to have audio, pictures, text, and anything else on there.

When you listen to audio and read at the same time, you have two sources of context, which will help you focus better and also remember it better. Since the audio keeps playing, you won’t be able to take breaks, skip around, or skim through the chapter. Depending on the narrator you might want to increase the speed reading. Personally I only download audiobooks when the author himself reads it.

What I’m Reading

I’m reading Alex Hormozi’s $100M Leads and also Diary of a CEO. I bought the physical copy for both of them (more pieces of visual context.) Super valuable insights on building a brand and business online. Reply to this e-mail if you have some book recommendations!

Update of the week: Over the past week I was trying out a few nootropics (basically brain-boosting supplements) and I made a video about them. Some of them were a bit sketchy like the first one but I did find one that I occasionally use for focus.

What did you think? Too long? Too short? You can just reply to this e-mail to let me know what you thought of this, and if there are products you prefer.
