I made a website to track my life
I spent this past week on this
Yo!
I spent this past week making my website, go check it out here! https://reysu.io/
I’m going to be writing out blog posts there, and keeping the newsletters short and sweet every week (I’ll include it here when I write a new post)
My favorite part of my website is a tab called 2024, where you can see a heat map of my deep work sessions as well as what I’m up to. 🙂
I’ll be updating books I’m reading, my daily routine, and my rotation of products in there. But let’s get into the newsletter for this week.
💡 Idea of the week
Paul Graham once said that every city sends their own message.
Great cities attract ambitious people. You can sense it when you walk around one. In a hundred subtle ways, the city sends you a message: you could do more; you should try harder.
I love this and this is why I think living in different places is one of the best ways to build more mental models.
In Los Angeles: “you should try to be famous.” In New York “you need to make more money.” In Tokyo “you need to fit in and be polite.”
What message would your city say?
⚡ Product of the week
Continuous Spray Bottle. I found out about this from recently and it’s amazing compared to normal spray bottles. You just keep pressing and it keeps spraying out continuously. I use it for cleaning, watering plants, and even keeping my hair looking normal in the mornings lol. A small quality of life improvement.
📖 Reading of the week:
Hooked by Nir Eyal A book written by a researcher explaining how companies make their products habit-forming and addictive. Interesting to understand in the context of social media apps like TikTok and YouTube. I started blocking the algorithmic feed on a schedule after this.
🍿 Video of the week:
Tony Robbins TED Talk: Why We Do What We Do This is the only time Tony Robbins has given a TED talk, and it’s amazing look into what motivates humans and how we can leverage that to motivate ourselves.
Hope you have a good weekend! Let’s get it this week 🤝
